ngratulations to Partner Club Alpharetta Ambush for their national championship win in the U17 division.  The team won 4-1 over St. Louis Scott Gallagher (MO) in Overland Park, Kansas.  Also, congrats to Karl Chester (golden ball) and Kevin Quintana (golden glove) for their respective awards.  Click here to watch a short video highlighting the National Championship run.

First Ever

Coaching Diploma Trip

The International Academy’s Coaching Diploma session came to an end this week, with many memories for all that attended.  For some it was fulfilling a life long dream, and for others it was gaining more experience to better their coaching.  Overall the trip was a huge success.  You can check out the full coverage of the event here.

Lletget Makes the Cut

December 11, 2011 – Former West Ham United International Academy Partner Club Player, Sebastian Lletget, has been selected to the U23 United States National Team.  The team will be part of Group A for the 2012 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament.  The matches for this group will be held in Nashville, TN in March 2012.  For more on this selection click here.

2012 National Camp Dates

January 10, 2012 - 2012 National Camp dates announced. The West Ham United International Academy are pleased to announce the dates for the 2012 National Camp at Darlington School, Rome GA. Camp 1 will be for U10-U13 boys and U12-U18 Girls – July 28th-31st. Camp 2 will be for U14-U18 Boys from August 1st -4th.  The camp will be under the direction of legendary West Ham United Academy Director Tony Carr and is by invitation only.  To see videos of the 2011 National Camp please click here.

George Cowie Joins the West Ham United International Academy

January 23, 2012 -  The West Ham United International Academy are pleased to announce the appointment of George Cowie as Business Development Manager and International Academy Ambassador for Australia and New Zealand. George is no stranger to West Ham United having first signed as an apprentice at the club in 1977 and then as a professional in 1978. During his time, West Ham won the FA Cup in 1980 and were runners-up in the League Cup the following year, George being on the substitutes bench at Wembley Stadium in the 1980 FA Charity Shield. Due to these successes, first team opportunities were limited but George did play in several big games for the Hammers facing Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham. In 1983 George returned to his native Scotland where he went on to make nearly 100 appearances for Hearts in the Scottish Premier League before injury cut short his career.  George is pictured here with former teammate and current Director of Football Development of the English Football Association, Sir Trevor Brooking.

January 26, 2012. West Ham United International Academy today announced its proud partnership with SA United Soccer Club of San Antonio. The first of its kind in Texas. Jay Sparrow, SA United’s Director of Coaching “Over the past 12 months I have been in talks with several UK based clubs as we look to form a professional partnership which will open doors for our elite players into the European game.

New Partner Club Announced

January 30, 2012 – West Ham United International Academy today announced their first partnership in Missouri with Avalon FC.  Avalon FC was founded in 1988 and is based in St. Charles County, MO with practice fields in St.

Peters, MO and Maryland Heights, MO. Avalon currently has nearly 600 registered competitive
